When most of the men are eating shit you have to employ dirty tactics and corruption to keep them in line. Usually by limiting freedoms and having a huge police force + prison complex. Endlessly pumping out fake economic numbers and fake dating stats.

In the end it turns everyhting into a shitty, low trust society built on living life for today and not giving a shit about the future.

Birth rate drops, families die out, and here we are.

It's a giant shell game, trying to fool people into not seeing how fucked they are to keep the economy running and acquire enough shekels so you'll finally feel secure. Which works out great unless you're still alive when shit hits the fan.
