It's all about locationmaxxing.
And typically women get into the criticism carousel whenever a flaw is pointed out that makes you low on the primal hierarchy.
The whole point of being good looking isn't so much the benefits, but the imperveousness of the person.
Why? Because the true extent of its value is how it's unaffected by negativity than it's inherent value.
You can have 2 people. One is an 8, the other is a 7. As soon as someone points out a flaw and criticism of the 8, then he is overall in attraction value bumped down to a 6-7 if the criticism mill goes on. While the 7, if having high status/ highly generally appraised gets a 9 in halo.
The whole point though is that edward cullen is a dude who is low on the primal hierarchy when it comes to likeability/ status but he's chosen anyway because of raw-hotness/ raw primal ability.
The moral of twilight is that even if you have low status value... you're still good if you're GL, and have abilities/ skills. Dominarchical/ Robust/ Rawforce/ Material value... over the abstracts like status/ reputation/ likes/ etc.
