The government in the near future starts a program for all depressed and unsatisfied people where they create a machine that lets you simulate a perfect life tuned to your ideals. This is in exchange for being a human battery that that powers various things, similar to the concept of the movie "The Matrix".

You forget your previous life and start a new one that is previously arranged by your past self. There are no drawbacks, the machine creates an identical experience to real life and you never find out about it being fake. You enter the machine and get to live a full life in it where you have previously chosen the way you look, where you are born, your partners, and your life in general.

Would you take the opportunity? Why or why not?

No. Too fake. Rather live in harsh reality with the option to kill myself if needed than be a brain dead slave. I’m not good at pretending, and I feel I’d find out it’s fake and hate it

Fuck yeah dude, so long as I can re-redpill myself

Put a pleasure button until I die?

Ok

No, I don't want to go into the mattix within a matrix.

You will never find out it is fake. It will be indistinguishable from real life.

Interesting responses. I would have expected more people to try somehow justifying not doing it. I think the only way to justify not doing it is believing in an inherent value to real life. So being religious or believing in a higher purpose or being.

We probably are living in a similar scenario

If I can become a Nazi and actually be white, a lot of my personal issues would be solved

Yes.
Nothing left for me here anyway.

We’re all taking turns contributing to the thread

Imagine us all in a circle sitting in a chair and each person shares their thoughts until it loops back around

It’s your turn again

No interesting contributions to this thread so far, I had higher hopes for this new "Politics, Philosophy, and Religion" section.

Maybe everyone is high

We’ll give until morning and then circle back around

Pretty sure you can simulate this by doing the right drugs and using VR.

A chance to be happy? Sign me up

I’m not gonna live in VR that’s silly. This ain’t ready player one!

We are already in a Sim, so what's another layer of Sim?

There not even proof of the theory of gravity.
It's a theory, and there are justifications to that theory. Do you have any for your theory that we live in a simulation?

I really dont see why not, a perfect life, why turn it down? If you think its real and enjoy it thats all that matters

Website seems interesting, what should I read on it?
The whole front page is very huge, but contains the whole "philosophy" of the concept.

It's creepy AF. But possibly true...

All that hippy/religious bullshit, "love and light" crap, is a meme weapon.

Do you believe this stuff by the way? That we are "sovereign spirits" and we must somehow manifest an afterlife? This seems too schizo for me.
Well, lots of folks have had near death experiences, and psychic stuff is real... (Pk, telepathy, etc) These s
things should be impossible if life was purely random chemistry... (((As stated by state science)))

No one should have NDEs. No matter how brainwashed by religion they are... Yet, their are subtle similarities to the NDE, as well as Oob (out of body experiences...

And... Our realm is based on fraud... Money, straw man contracts,

As below, so above.

If our reality is a fraud, then why wouldn't "heaven" (astral realms) be a fraud too?
