The anime has a plot tho, if you get annoyed by the romance subplot that's fair but there's a clear and interesting main plot which doesn't involve romance

This is a bold take, but DanDaDan might be one of the best anime to come out recently. The animation is insanely creative, expressive, and full of personality. Unlike a lot of newer shows, it actually tries to do something different and manages to pull it off. The soundtrack is mid, tho (at least in my opinion), but good enough to make scenes stick. The plot is ok.
Honestly, it reminds me of the original FLCL, similar energy and weirdness, but it obviously doesn't compare. FLCL is peak, way more artsy and layered with meaning.
I would rate it a 7, definitely worth the try.

It was a story about an older foid searching to manipulate impressionable young men into falling in love for her own selfish gains. There isn't really many anime out there with the same message that I've heard about
