A cat will kill hundreds of mice and birds during its lifetime. I don't know how to objectively quantify the relative value of animals tbh. But on one side, we have one animal life. On the other, we have hundreds.
And cats don't swiftly slaughter their prey. They are notorious for torturing them first.
Most house cats still kill prey.

It depends on the circumstances of the potential death. Can I just instantly will that cat out of existence, shoot it in the head, or blow it up? If yes to any of that then sure I'd kill it, otherwise no.
