Over 30,000 Japanese-Americans fought for the U.S. military in WW2; over 800 of them died. This happened in spite of the fact the U.S. government forcibly displaced and interned thousands of Japanese-Americans on the West Coast after Pearl Harbor. And many African-Americans fought to liberate East Asia and Western Europe despite the irony of being denied similar civil liberties at home.

I believe there is nothing intrinsically moral or immoral regarding a state's use of violent force (or the threat of violent force) against another state or non-state actor.
