I'm a borderline landwhale myself and probably wouldn't get serious about approaching women for dates until I lost weight and became more attractive (call that cope if you like) but while ex-landwhales are certainly more appealing than current-landwhales, I'm kind of scared of dating ex-landwhales too.
That is hypocritical I guess, since anyone willing to date me would be willing to date an ex-landwhale too, but I guess I can't help it?
Aesthetically there would be some loose skin but I don't think it would be too disgusting as long as they weren't uber landwhales... Like it would be tolerable if they were only ~30-40 pounds overweight and only had that much skin stretch. But if it was like ~200 pounds and they had dropped from 350 to 150 it might be rather repulsive. I mean in my case I'd probably only want to lose around 40 pounds of fat...
In the case of guys, the optin exists to fill some of that loose skin with new muscle, so there wouldn't be as much looseness. I don't think women are as willing (or able) to put on muscle to fill out loose skin though, so that's part of why I think there is a realistic double standard here.
I think I am more psychologically afraid though. An ex-landwhale migth be prone to reverting to landwhale habits if they got comfortable dating, and if we had kids they might have a personality prone to addictive behavior like that.
