It’s funny how the equivalent for an unlucky male (short/ugly/poor) is a woman with so little willpower that she can’t exercise or stop eating.
I’m not saying there aren’t actual ugly women out there, but many “ugly” women are just fat. You’d think the equivalent of a fat woman is a fat man, but you’d be a wrong. The equivalent of a fat woman is a short man.
The stereotype is so prevalent that it’s in the military. Officers (who make more money) stereotypically have fit/skinny wives. Enlisted (who make less money) stereotypically have fat wives. The only real, practical difference between enlisted and officers is that officers have more money, and, thus, they don’t have to settle for fat wives.
I spend a lot of time at the gym, so I know a lot of fit dudes. It’s not uncommon to meet a short gymlet man with a 6-pack abs and a fat girlfriend. Because his accessibility to fit women is not determined by his fitness, but his height. Short guys get fat women. So the universe has decreed.

Not being ideal weight is no big deal, being repulsively obese is. If nothing else it's about the precedent. Men should be able to demand a partner on their level, not be forced to settle for extremely ugly women (ugly by choice, mind you) out of necessity.
