Hm I don't really think women connect their femininity to success with the other sex as much as men connect their masculinity with it.

It has nothing to do with feminity, but more of a "you are ugly, that's why you cant get a boyfriend" kind of thing. It's about putting someone down and making you essentially the better, prettier woman.
