My mother asked me if I was working towards something at work, when I asked her what she meant, she said to work and accumulate enough money to buy something which will make you feel happy. To me, this seems like materialist nonsense. Why would I waste money on something that isn't essential like food. I'd never buy clothes or shoes with money.

Maybe I'd buy a video game or book, but it ends there really. Do you guys work towards something?
