A strong evidence that men did not abuse their women in the past is how protective they are of women today. You can't even criticize women without having men jump down your throat.
Do people seriously believe men of the past were just fine seeing women being spanked and mistreated like cattle, especially when these women were their sisters, mothers, cousins, and friends? Very silly idea.
In reality, men have always treated women in a special way, even to cucked and exaggerated levels of chivalry, which is a fundamental reason behind the amount of privileges and rights that were given to women in the last centuries.
Women agree with other women that criticize men, whereas men are suspicious of and even get angry at men that criticize women. It's the old male instinct to be overly protective of women because we subconsciously understand that women are inferior, which leads me to a hot take: women should receive special treatment.
"Oh, my God, you're supporting feminism!"
No, women must have their rights taken away and their sexuality kept in check for the sake of human evolution and the maintenance of civilization, but they are inferior to men and thus cannot be held to the same standards as us. We are not so harsh and demanding of women because they can't handle it, so in this sense they should be watched and cared for, which is fine as long as they don't have the same authority and power like men do.
