Before they only wanted them since they knew they would have to have some when they got married. It was basically seen as a life "milestone" so having them was a big deal and a social status boost. I don't know I feel like jews at least in this case is kind of a copout because women are still making the decision to not have kids.

Thanks for the positive reply. And that last sentence is why I personally don't think taking women's rights away is going to solve anything. Sure they might be forced by circumstances to marry you and let you have sex with them but it will be starfish sex and even if you do have kids nothing is stopping her from just killing the kid maybe punishment of death but that existed way back in the 1500's and even then women were risking death to just to have sex with a chad.
