And only by experience do they learn to lower their expectations to the 5% - either heartbreaches or learning how attainable gigachads are because they're dating their more attractive girlfriends etc -
Just look at women when they are the most naive and less experienced, in highschool and before date for instance, there is always 1-5 gigachads in the whole school that half of the female population of the school has a crush on, you'll find whole legions of girls gossiping on them, talking about them, obsessing about them, daydreaming about them.
It's only after that, as some experience and pragmatic considerations start entering into the picture (how gigachads are attainable and tend to have the upperhand in the relationships, the importance of money, desire for LTR with a high value male ) that they are forced to lower their expectations to the top 20% males.
