Women are so incredibly insecure.Women laugh at someone not because something funny was said but because they want to socially isolate or demean the other person. Men laugh at someone because someone said something funny about them. how much you get laughed at in a woman's social circle is basically a measure of how little respect you have. how well you can play along with being laughed at in men's social circle is a sign of confidence and status.

so as for being "offended by jokes", when guys make a joke and all laugh at X the women assume that men are really attacking X, because that's how women behave. if the woman thinks that X doesn't deserve to be attacked they get offended at the joke and mad at the men laughing for being mean. but that's not how men think at all about it. if X is funny they're going to laugh. laughing at someone isn't insulting or demeaning to a man, but for women laughing at someone is a huge sign of derision and disrespect.
