Reminds me of how people say "dating apps aren't real life, m-most people meet via social circle" despite the data showing most couples meet online and only 7 percent of couples met through friends.

Bottom line, the internet IS real life in 2025. Nobody is "touching grass". Tiktok and reddit are by far the best ways of gauging the current cultural zeitgeist. The difference is women use the internet for validation (thirsttraps on instragram, tiktok, snap, dating apps, etc.) while men use it for coping (porn, video games, scrolling). If men could lead the life they wanted (i.e. find partners, have sex) they wouldn't dwell on their phones. Women however are incredibly addicted to the internet because it allows for until recently unknown masses of worship and validation. They are by biological design addicted to attention. You can have literally thousands of simps in your DMs today. Calling this a profound change from only 20 years ago would be an understatement. And it will only get worse.
