No sovereign nation is completely free of felines, as domestic cats exist on every populated continent. However, there are a few specific, isolated territories and environments where felines are banned or completely absent:
Svalbard, Norway: This Arctic archipelago has officially banned domestic cats to protect vulnerable native and migratory bird populations.
Antarctica: There are no native or domestic cats. Only researchers temporarily inhabit the continent, and bringing felines is strictly prohibited to protect the local ecosystem.
Australia & New Zealand: These countries have no native wildcats. While both have domestic and feral (wild) cat populations brought by European settlers, native feline species do not naturally exist there.
