He's being sarcastic about the prosperity but not the fact that his enemies are joining forces which is a loss to him. Even it is apparent to everyone that things are going against you and the outcome is not favoring you, as a politician and especially a leader, you have to deny that your position has worsened. This is politics 101 and propaganda 101. Admitting losing position doesn't help the cause.

it definitely doesn't have ALL, not even most of the rare earths. it does have most of the factories yes but the reason it has the factories is the west. no money coming in from the west = no factories
america's gdp has gone from 21 to 29 trillion USD from 2020-2024. china is stagnating, 0 growth, stuck at 18 trillion. and that's with a population 4x the size of the US and being. a developing country
The equation goes both ways. West can't produce at low cost so it needs Chinese factories.
Speculative bubble, not real wealth. West is stuck in production in all the key parameters like infrastructure, housing, healthcare, and manufacturing. Meanwhile, Chinese tech is growing from semiconductors to AI to high tech manufacturing. In PPP terms, China has already overtaken USA.
the west did not have china during ww1 or ww2. not at a low cost yes, but the west can produce by making compromises, like in a war time economy for example. you can't really say the same about china, they can't just make money out of nothing. PPP is a nonsensical metric, Turkey's gdp PPP per capita is higher than many european countries but in reality it's a shithole with a lower purchasing power per person than any european country worse than even ukraine, moldova, belarus, Albania etc despite having like 10x the gdp of all those countries combined
Back in the early and mid 20th century, America was the rising power and other nations like Germany and Japan weren't as industrialized so Americans could have the world market to themselves which set the platform for American exceptionalism but after WW2, both Germany, Japan had their economic miracles so Americans now had competitors. They were able to crush Japan by the 80s and 90s, but the Chinese gave Americans the offer of competitiveness in world markets (pennies-on-the-dollar cost of manufacturing) which they just couldn't refuse so we now have the entire world depending on China for their goods.
No that's America. Financialization, speculative bubbles, branding & marketing, and debt driven inflationary monetary policy are literally the outcomes of "money out of nothing" mentality.
