My problem with this discussion is that it assigns to Jews the power to move the Earth up and down. I wrote a long post in this thread earlier but I deleted it because of all the eager Nazis here and the poisonous tone.
At the end of the day the Jew vs Gentile conflict over the eons largely had to do with group vs group ethnic competition that emerged because the Jews, wandering around Europe and all that, were insistent on maintaining their identity, which entailed being different, being apart, and being tribal. That was the only way they could survive among gentiles and maintain their identity, but this tribalism of theirs time and time again would provoke a counter tribalism as the simple peasants they lived among would get jealous that they were being out-competed materially by this out-group and a pogrom would ensue. Many other peoples would have just said "fuck it" and converted to Christianity -- as indeed a lot of Jews have over time. But the ones that did not convert must have had a stronger attachment to their faith and culture, thereby creating some selection process where only the most committed Jews were able to pass down their genes, with weaklings becoming Christians.
I can't blame the Jews for wanting to cling to their culture and religion over those eons in Europe, and the type of jealousy/dislike they sparked in peasants and their frequent expulsions is the type of ethnic conflict over resources that has always targeted "market dominant minorities" and has occurred in various places.
I don't like the story of Jews as perpetual victims in Europe (pre-WW2). I don't like either the story of Jews as perfidious corrupters behind every societal ill. Neither explanation satisfies.

Most of the time, I'd like to think when people on the internet say "the Jews" they don't even mean every single joe schmoe Jew (especially Jews that just happen to have the blood but know nothing about Judaism).
