There is no hope anymore. But still, feeling hopeful is something someone cannot avoid (even if you're blackpilled).

Its a defense mechanism. By feeling sad, they show you attention and you stop being depressed. This makes you think, that if you achieve something great through work, as dramatic as the will to die and as serious as the act of suicide, you'll get the same ammount of attention, however coming from awe.
It is funny how when it doesn't work, they get offended, and start using more drastic, disciplined language and rhethoric.
