Envy tries to even out the playing field, seeing how other people have it better than oneself. There is an element of justice to realizing how unfair things can be.

Scorn attacks people who already have been dealt a shitty hand, it is the ultimate evilest of emotions.

The Catholic Church needs to make Scorn the worst sin, and when talking about cenodoxia (vainglory/pride), to ESPECIALLY FOCUS ON SCORN.

And Jesus was crucified out of scorn, since they couldn't withstand him - an mere carpenter's son to be a Prophet.

However i think scorn wasn't classified as a sin, since it was basic mechanism, to maintain society, even today.
