Because god of war is marketed and advertised as a game by and for men. People play the game for Kratos. When you change the iconic main character to some foid that literally nobody cares about or wants to play as, your ignoring the target demographic and fanbase for these games.
Can you name a single person who wanted or asked for this? “Man I sure love playing as kratos but you know who I would really be exited to play as? Kratos’s wife! That would be awesome!”

Yes she’s part of the story but so are several other characters that never got their own game. As a matter of fact their are even characters that would make more sense to make a game about over her like Atreus for example, him having a spinoff about him would make more sense since he’s more important and because I think more people would be open to that then this (not that I think fans want to play as anyone other than kratos regardless)
