One major reason is actually not the lack of creativity on the part of producers, but the viewers themselves. It's alarming. More and more people are turning to second screen movie watching due to a lack of concentration. This means they watch a movie while constantly scrolling through Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Reels because their nerves are completely frayed from social media. With more and more endorphins, feelings of happiness, etc., viewers don't even feel like watching movies anymore. That's so incredibly sad.

And that's one reason why film studios are now increasingly changing their filming habits by constantly incorporating boring repetitions, etc.

I do remember reading that Netflix orders their movies to be very simple and without any subtitlety as they know that most ppl play their movies while cleaning or doing something else.
