One of the things that bothers me about modern games is, that they don't have memorable music. Most modern game OST's are very generic, and forgettable. When people talk about great gaming OST's on JewTube, it's always the older games.
It's because classic video game composers were trained in classical music style. Modern game composers try too hard to be atmospheric
They try to imitate Hollywood music
Yeah and Hollywood music sucks too. I think the OG Final Fantasy composer called this out
