Why is Taxi Driver liked by some incels?

Valid points, but I disagree that incels can get dates. Travis got a date extremely easily and he had probably done it before too. As for Iris he does not view her a a little sister. When she is unbuckling his belt he obviously shows willpower not to fuck her, he doesn’t react in a horrified way like he would if he thought of her that way.

Taxi Driver was released in the 1970s. The dating market wasn't as bad as it is now. Besides, Travis is incredibly ND and mentally ill. It would likely have fizzled out.

Nothing really changes for Travis after he saves that girl. After his 10 minutes of fame are up, nothing really changes for him. He remains lonely and frustrated. Nobody cares enough to drag him out of that state. That was more of less a microcosm of his experiences in Vietnam.

I think the core message of Taxi Driver is that the Travis Bickles of the world are invisible and disposable. It doesn't matter if you do everything society expects of you. At best, you will just get a pat on the back and then your suffering will resume.

I watched Taxi Driver and I thought it was not much of an incel movie.

It just shows how much men are conditioned to be a white knight.
