Support a liberal secular party that loots the nation’s treasury to buy estates in London, claims to be secular by treating extremists and critics of the regime the same (killed by a death squad) and does nothing to modernize the country or support an Islamist party that isn’t inept and corrupt but will enact shariah law, so now a mob of extremists can murder you with impunity if you’re a critic for an accusation of blasphemy.

Giving into democracy to begin with is the problem, there is no such thing as an "islamic" party, democracy is incompatible with Islam; legislation is for none but God, not for people to vote on or parliaments to decide on. Under the Shariah no one would be executed for merely criticizing the government when it comes to political affairs unless the criticism conflicts with Islam, only then it is blasphemy. The Shariah isn't something humans can truly bend, if a leader does, his Islam is nullified and so is his position as leader, and so his ousting is not only justified but compulsory. And God knows best, I'm merely a layman, but I have some material on this if anyone is interested in reading.

They don’t want to be seen as “extremist” and “underdeveloped”, modern day muslim countries want to be like europeans and they put europeans on some sort of pedestal, so an easy way to not be seen as barbaric extremist is to be very secular
