Why is Beyblade so strangely animated?

It doesn't look like regular anime. Was it animated in Korea or is it because it's an old anime? The characters look very strange and pointy compared to other animes. I know there are alot of anime-expert on this site, so what's the drawing/animation style called?

I never had Pokemon on TV as a kid. I didn't have the channel it was on. Beyblade was the only anime i could watch on TV when i was 10 or so.

I remember watching shows like these as a little lad, when I was innocent. Legends of Korra with my mom and dad, Pokemon in the morning, ahhh, good forgotten times
