Why is being quiet considered as weird?

I’m quiet by nature I don’t speak to people unless I’m being spoken to. Growing up I’ve always been called weird because of my quietness and it still happens now a days. I’ll never understand why being quiet is looked at as weird why can’t people accept the fact that not everyone is talkative?

Sharing and socialising don’t come naturally to everyone, even, I’d argue, to most. Being quiet may socially signify uninterest on other people or unwillingness to play the game and make other people feel comfortable and at ease.
