Kerch Polytechnic, Kazan, Perm State University, Izhevsk, etc. While it's not nearly as much as in Burgerland, it's much more than in most EU countries. Is there an explanation for this? I know that the firearms laws in Russia are quite strict.

@Cryotron @Anarcho Nihilist

Have no answer, it was always rare cases, started happening more since late 2010s so it's mostly 2001+ zoomers doing it.
Just quickly looking at cases in ru wiki, often it's mentally ill dudes with the thirst for murder just for the sake of it, plenty of cases are U.S columbine wannabe, bullying motive is also prevalent.

There are many unhappy teenagers in Russia. As far as I remember, the man who shot people in college in Kerch had a terrible childhood, his mother was a nurse who received very little money, besides that she was a member of some sect and forbade him to do anything, even celebrate his birthday. His father was a disabled veteran of the Afghan war.

Larger population and they're also capitalistic af after the ussr collapse. none of this would've happened had the (((cia))) coup not succeeded in 1991

russians aren't as cucked as europeans, maybe they got some balls

They need more vodka and Kalashnikov's!

the state media is making a fuss and wants to ban weapons and promote the regime under the pretext of protecting children. and in general this is not so common compared to the West where, according to Russians, this happens every day

Germany had a bunch of ERs. Robert Steinhäuser, Marcel Hesse, Anis Amri, the guy who went ER with a car in Magdeburg etc.

Maybe easier access to guns plus alcoholism

BS. People didn't want the moribund communist system, Gorbachev enacted a series of reforms, the one which sealed his fate was political democratization: he allowed relatively free elections. The populist, basically anti-communist Yeltsin won with a landslide in Russia proper in 1991. There were also a number of republics where the majority of the population wanted to secede and for very good reasons.

The Soviet hardliners launched a doomed-to-failure coup attempt in Moscow, August 1991. They had almost no popular support. After the collapse of the coup attempt the republics started to officially secede and Yeltsin took over control in Russia with a near-complete support of its population. He already was a popularly elected Predient of the Russian SFSR, right? CIA had no influence whatsoever.

whether they were popular or not doesnt matter. point is all the anti-communist liberals especially yeltsin are responsible for transforming russia from a superpower into a hellhole in order to establish friendlier relations with the USA (and that didn't work out)

The USSR in 1990/1991 was as much of a superpower as Pakistan (or India) now is. The fact you have nukes and a big army doesn't make you a superpower. This country was bankrupt by then. Yeltsin did not introduce market economy to establish friendly relations with the US, he did so out of the economic necessity. And friendly relations did not work out, because as soon as the economy had recovered (it started to recover in 1999), Russia - then under Putin - reverted to its traditional hegemonistic desires and policies.

Also, Yeltsin himself was no liberal, some of his team were, but most weren't. Most (such as Minister of Defence Grachev, Foreign intelligence chief Primakov etc.) were ideologically closer to what Putin and his henchmen now are.
