Why don't we defend ourselves by talking to the journalists who smear us?

I've been sitting here hoping some journalist finds me and says "Hey, so do you wanna say something about incels?" while other people are getting picked up by the BBC. But then it dawned on me. These articles we find that talk about how we don't need help and we're just assholes, they say who wrote the article in the header. And the sites these "journalists" write for, they're usually blog-format so you can click their name, and get contact info/a list of their other articles.

So I, as a "reader," could be like "I had some counterpoints to raise about your article there..." I'm sitting here stewing in frustration like "I wish I could just SAY this stuff to someone!" But it only dawned on me now that I always could, I was just waiting for them to find me, when it's me that should be finding them.

I'm presently in the midst of debate with two guys about incelibacy. This is where I got the idea. The guy cited an article, and I got mad. But then I was like "Wait, why don't I just contact the writer of the article?"

I have argued against people who hated Donald trump and I called them out on their blatant hypocrisy before. What they do is either just call you a racist/sexist/etc or they just jump to a completely different topic, such as how trump said he would date his daughter. They would do the same exact tactic against incels.
