In a society that is unjust and is still engineered around our biological programming. A society that offers people like us who are the driving force of creative and technological advancement, nothing but suffering and self-loathing. Why do we work? Why contribute? It is a known fact that attractive people who have it easy mode in life never self-actualize and never become good at anything to contribute anything of value to the civilization. On the other hand, people like us are behind every great change that made modern lifestyle possible. If we collectively stop working for such a society, it will collapse in no time.

Hikkikomori is a uniquely Japanese thing (JP culture + welfare state). Little chance in USA/West Europe (NEETBUX aren't guaranteed if you're white) or East Europe (in my country UBI=30$, good luck STAYING ALIVE on that). The closest thing is going monk or moving to the countryside (I personally can afford the latter, but I'm waiting until I finish my studies). Even then, adapting to such a life is incredibly difficult.

It's not an option for most of us if we want to survive.

And even if your parents are willing to let you live with them into your mid 20s....will they let you when you're 30? 35? Doubtful.

And in the off-chance that they do, what are you going to do when they die? You'll be in your 30s or 40s with no work experience.

If I could go back to being a NEET, I would. I was NEET for a while in my early 20s and a lot of the time I get nostalgic about those days.

It won't collapse. Most of us have no talents and are wageslaves. We wait tables for example. We are disposable. There are hundred thousands of people are in line to have our jobs. If 500 people here quit their jobs, more than 450 of them will be replaced the same day.
I don't mean to ill well, I suck too. I wish it wasn't like this.

Yup. I have a bottom rung, minimum wage job and anytime someone is fired (or quits), they're quickly and effortlessly replaced. When we put up a "now hiring" sign in front, we get at least 15-20 applications a day.

You wouldn't believe how many minimum wage jobs I've applied for in the past, where I showed up to the interview and there were like 8 other people waiting to be interviewed, and half of them in suits and ties. All for a fucking dish washing or burger flipping job.

The fact of the matter is, there's absolutely no shortage of unskilled labor. And in the future there will be even less demand for unskilled labor due to automation.
