my guess is it's a cash grab.
to make players buy the next installment.

there are probably good RPGs out there that couldn't break through
the marketing wall, so we don't know of them.

Now that I think about it, it is surprising RPG games don't add a randomizer mode. Why not for old RPG remakes? It's a really niche thing, but people make tiny shit games all the time.

All about the money. God I loved Final Fantasy X. Now that game boss wise was goated.

wdym like their stats? that's unfair

I mean like after beating a boss, and his NPCs, and you return to the town, the boss should be replaced with another boss randomly, or regenerate the boss so you can battle him again, maybe with different states.

but instead, commonly once you beat a boss, there is nothing left to do in his town.

well you cleared the town and move on to another

start playing rougelikes like Dwarf Fortress

I would prefer to have the option to have a new boss there if I go back, instead of a dead town.

You have hack'n'slash games for that

Remnant 2 has random bosses. Every area you go into there's around 100 or so variations of a boss.

I meant like regenerate the whole event, not like how pokemon randomize in fields. don't know if that's the case with Remnant 2

Yeah, Remnant 2 does that. Basically if there's 6 areas in your level, you have around 18 possibilites to go for each section. I like it a lot, also the fact there's lots of bosses too.
