The question is why? Obviously British will say because Germans are evil but forget to say Germany actually offered peace multiple times and the Brits caused the wars.

The thing is why exactly fear and hate a powerful Germany that gets so powerful that it dominates continental Europe? Why prefer Russian Soviets for example? Or a multi cultural Europe turning Europe into Brazil all in actuality to prevent German dominance.

Because German rule in Europe would be better than Anglo-Saxon rule, or even more so, God forbid, Russian rule. Germany was ahead of the British in everything from Nobel prizes (before World War 1) to social progress. German workers had pensions and health insurance much earlier than British workers. Therefore, the British began to incite hatred against the Germans and united with their unnatural allies (France and Russia had previously been constant enemies of England for centuries).

The British always supported a fractured Europe; a strong Germany with a sphere of influence encompassing Central Europe would've threatened their empire. Divide and conquer has always been their strategy.

Also I don't think Britain and France necessarily preferred a Europe dominated by the Russians, they just aided them because their national interests aligned and Russia acted as a good counterbalance to Germany.
