its cus of intranational obligations for countries. if you think, russia is eroding the sovereignty of ukraine over it's people, so UN and NATO countries are intervening cus the Ukrainian government is pro Europe. one of the main reasons Russia annexed Crimea was because of the ports on the sea of azov and the black sea, which provide trade routes to the whole of europe. this meant ukraine couldn't export its goods to europe and so the prices of sunflower oil and wheat and stuff went up for loads of people in europe.
