I tell them leaving the trash can open is a bad idea because fruit flies are attracted to it and they’re getting in, eating it, and then reproducing.
No one will listen to me, I saw about 4 black fruit flies fly off of the damn trash can, some were already in it. It’s like they think it’s normal to have a house full of little flies, tf is wrong with them. This problem could easily be prevented with traps and keeping the damn lids shut.
They never listen to me when it comes to pests, earlier this summer I was killing about 3 - 6 houseflies a day because nobody wanted to check the damn windows to see how they were getting in. They shrug it off like it’s not a big deal and a huge sanitary problem.
I might as well keep that bug spray on deck because it’ll probably be rough until it gets cold enough for all the winged assholes to die off.
