Every anime I've seen where it appears that the main character is a loser with no friends who girls hate makes that character have his own harem. It's extremely frustrating as a viewer trying to find some relatability.
I watched this show recently called Oregairu, which had a main character who started off as an enormous loser who girls despised. I was wowed by how accurately they showed his rejection, with the girls getting visibly disgusted and saying he was gross just for stating his feelings. This led him to have a wonderful AWALT blackpill mindset that made him distrustful of any girls. This seemed to be reinforced as every girl who talked to him called him a pervert and treated him with disrespect.
I was in love with this series until one of the girls the main character is in a club with starts acting more friendly towards him. It's then that this guy tells her that he knows she's just pretending to be nice to him to be polite, and that she wants nothing more than to get far away from him, just like all the girls he's talked to. The girl gets upset at this and runs away, and this is followed by the main character delivering a beautiful black pill the likes of which I've never before seen in an anime:
"I hate nice girls. If they so much as say hello, it stays on my mind. If they return texts, my heart races. The day one calls me, I know I'll look at my call history and grin. But that's just them being nice. People who are nice to me are also nice to everyone else. I almost end up forgetting that. If the truth is cruel , then lies must be kind. That's why kindness is a lie. I gave up on always expecting it, always mistaking it, and even hoping for it. Someone who's' worked so hard at being alone doesn't fall for the same trick twice. I'm a veteran at this. I’m the best when it comes to losing. That's why I'll always hate nice girls."
This impact this kino speech left on me was unfortunately cut short the very next scene where you find out THAT THIS GIRL HAD FEELINGS FOR HIM THE ENTIRE TIME!!! Apparently he saved her dog from being hit by a car or something in the past. I was so disgusted by this heel-turn that I shortly dropped the series after that.
