Serious Why do you care as being identified as 'based'?

This seems to be a term to indicate one is a person of his own beliefs and ideals and never forgets and disregards them even in a time of pressure or in a situation that may have a negative affect on him, I see it is in a large following that many use this term such as the redpill and blackpill community, yet I see the same people use the term 'npcs' or other degrading terms to subject a person to seem as a nitwit, my question is why are many so infatuated with this said term and what does it mean to you.

Do you realize some hypocrisy of not being "based" yourself considering your following to use a term that a large myriad of people started to use?
