For starters, I think it's important to make the distinction between "non-literal mommy gf" and wanting to fuck your actual mother.
If it's explicitly the latter being posted on r9k, it could very well be just one guy who posts about it non-stop. One thing I noticed in my years of using imageboards, is you get these turbo autists who spam the site talking about the same specific topic over and over again. Like they're incapable of discussing anything but that one thing, whatever it is. Actually these types exist all over the internet and they're annoying as fuck, but on imageboards they can create the illusion that it's a bunch of different users if you're not paying attention. They always samefag in threads and sometimes you'll see entire threads where most of the replies are them replying to their own posts. You can often tell from the writing style, specific vocabulary, the timing of the replies, and certain specific combinations of words.

That is actually really depressing if true. Imagine being so depraved that you waste all that time replying to yourself over and over and over and over again just for vanity.

Yeah, I've always been curious as to what motivates someone to become hyper-obsessed with a specific thing, and spend hours and hours flooding a website with posts about it everyday, sometimes for years on end. Unfortunately these types of people will never give you an honest answer about their motivation.
The infamous BBC spammer was like this. He made a lot of accounts and replied to himself on alt accounts. Though with him his goal was obviously to stir up racial tensions.
But people replying to themselves on the internet pretending to be someone else has been a thing on the internet as long as forums have existed. We used to call them "sockpuppet accounts" (or just "sock accounts") back in the day. I've been on a lot of forums where there were users who got outed for using alts. In some cases they'd have like 6 accounts pretending to be 6 different people with their own backstories. Sometimes they did it as an attempt to boost their perceived popularity. Sometimes they used their alts to "gang up on" anyone who disagreed with them. And in some cases they made accounts to argue with themselves, usually arguing what they actually believed on their main account, and making intentionally bad arguments and acting really obnoxious on their other account that they used to argue the other side. They got usually got found out because either a mod checked the IPs, or they made the wrong reply on the wrong account.
From what I can tell, a lot of these types of people genuinely think that doing this shit will have some sort of real world impact. But some do it simply because they know it will annoy people. But some seem to be so mentally preoccupied with a specific topic that they can't think or talk about anything else, and they feel compelled to post about it nonstop. Like they're a prisoner of their own mind.
