PC mogs consoles to hell and back
I've seen the CD32 and yeah, it looks nice. I've also had hands on most Sega consoles of the 90s.
To me, they all looked cheap.
The PS1 looked and felt like a quality product and I still have mine and it all still wirrks flawelessly, even the controllers.
No stick drift either.
Even Sony stopped making good controllers after the PS2, imo.
The Dreamcast was a loud POS and Sega just couldn't recover from the Sega Mega Drive desaster, even when selling the console much cheaper than the PS2.
I remember its last price drop was down to 99€ with two joypads, afaik, and a game.
Sounded like a steal, but just a year after they quit for good.
The saturn also was too expensive and just too ahead of its time. On paper it was more powerful than the ps1 but no dev, other than SEGAs own dev team, could harness that power.
Look at the prototype for Shenmue on the Sega Saturn. Mind blowing for its time.

Edit: looks like it would not have been possible. Some fakery going on by Sega back then.

The music, man. The whole feel is so 90s. Lifefuel.
Also, look at what xl2 has developed for the Saturn.
It is a homebrew project.

That shit would have blown everything the ps1 had to offer out of the water.
I wish capable devs would have released the Spyro trilogy and Crash Bandicoot trilogy on the Saturn as well.
That might have saved the Saturn.
Not only was its disc drive loud, it also got pretty hot afaik.Hm. It surprises me that for example you think the original PlayStation looks nicer than the original Saturn.
The Mega Drive was one of the most popular consoles of all time.
The DC... I mean... your argument there is that it was loud? Yeah it was a bit loud I guess. But that's surely not everything that matters about a console.
I do think so much of this is about personal taste. No amount of technical jargon or whatever can make you want to play Madden over Jet Set Radio if Madden isn't your thing.
Yeah, that is what I wanted to use it for.Game Pass used to be good for trying out games on the cheap. Now, it sucks, as predictably M$ struck.

Then there is the failed GDROM format.
Reminds me of Microsofts' HD DVD.
Segas' reputation was too damaged and there were barely any nice games.
I guess looks are subjective, when it comes to consoles.
It had a lot of good first and second party games
I remember we used to joke about the DC's fan and noise. My mate borrowed my DC once and said he couldn't sneakily play it at night because his dad overheard it XD
I used to cover mine in clothes to shut it up in situations like that with a little gap left for the fan. REALLY STUPID I know but I was only young.
If it had a lot of good games, why has it not succeeded then?
It even was the first online gaming console. Still, the PS2 btfo'ed it.
So, you seeiousely want to tell us that the PS2 was and the games it offered was / were worse than the DC?People also like wrestling and Taylor Swift.

Oof, if that ain't fanboism, then I dunno, man.
The mega drive was great, I agree, the rest after than went to shit.
Believe me, I too wish that Sega would have succeeded.
Competition and a lot of choices are always good.
I still am hoping for them to make a comeback, but seeing how the gaming industry as a whole turns to shit I doubt that Sega would revokutionize anything.
Imo, the golden era is over.
We are witnessing the decline, all in the name of woke and money.
Google Microsft Rewards. Then, create a Microsoft Rewards account with Hotmail or Gmail. You earn big points by searching on the Bing browser, that is literally fucking it lol. ALSO, make sure the account you created on Microsoft Rewards is the same email as your Xbox account. Then download MSN (it is just Bing but more fancy) to earn bing points on your phone. You can also earn bing points by playing PC and console games. Next, download your store's Xbox app to earn daily login bing points. NEEEXT, If you play PC games and console games 5 days in a row within a week, you get bonus bing points (use your Xbox app to collect the rewards). You can use your bing points to redeem gift cards on Microsft rewards, and my favorite one is the Microsft Rewards Gift card as that is the most versatile one for gaming. You can use it to buy any Xbox game or use it to buy in-app purchases from apps in the Microsft Store, which is how I got robux and roblox premium without spending a penny.Explain.

Thank you. That sounds nice, but also sounds like a HUGE time waster.
Also, nothing is for free. Microsoft collects your data, search data and sells it and lr uses it themselves.
And the bing searches are also probably manipulated so sell you shit you don't want and give you the answers that you, as a slave, are supposed to get.
I use qwant as a search engine.
