Serious Why do people need to cling to a Just World view?

I have my guesses, but has anyone else thought on this? This is a problem you see with a lot of normies.

It does break a part of the brain when you realize that nothing in this world happens for a reason or has any justice in it. Even now my mind still wants to reject it and believe this all has a point, but deep down, I know it doesn't. The thought that everything that matters most in life (looks & IQ) was predetermined, and out of the victims control, is so fucking unsettling.

Isn't it obvious? Believing that everything that happens has a reason behind it and that everyone will get what they are owed (be it bad or good) feels good. Accepting that the universe is chaotic and that bad people get away with doing bad things and that good people live their lives being shit on does not feel good.
