My favorite year. I was 13, I went outside to play all summer. I had friends in the neighborhood, I had friends at school. After 2017 I started HS, got tubby, puberty made me ugly, had 0 friends at school, and nobody came outside anymore, in part because we weren't all the same age so us highschoolers didn't hang out with the ones that were still in middle school.

Also I was into youtube drama. Leafy, Keemstar, GradeAUnderA I ate up all the slop, it was super fun for me.

I'd say most normies only really cared about the latter two, and then only about Trump. AFAIK, no one really talked about Brexit after the UK finally left, but Trump's election was a global inflection point.
