You need telephoto lens for more accurate face proportions in photos, regular smartphone cameras have lens distortion which makes faces look uglier

Exactly. So stop coping, there is no lens distortion or anything else that influences your ugliness. Chads look good even when they make a spontaneous pic they don’t event know what focal length is. If you look ugly in pictures / selfies , you’re ugly. The mirror is just something you get used to because you always see yourself directly head on and the POV is from your eyes.

Nah, cameras can really fuck your face up depending on the lens and lighting. Mirror is more accurate, the only reason people say it isn't is because it flips your face, bone structure and symmetry is still the same even if your image is flipped.
