Serious question, some say its because of colder climates but I really dont know why?

It's because they have monolids but I'm not sure what evolutionary need would lead to them being prevalent in Asians.

Northern Europe is not that cold below arctic latitudes. Beijing is signifcantly colder than Stockholm by every metric. This is because East Asia is subject to the Siberian Low which causes harsh winters while Western Europe has mild winters due to the Atlantic Gulf Stream. And East Asians probably came from Siberia anyway. An indication of this is that the epicanthic fold and other characteristic asian features are most prominent in East Siberian populations.

Probably it is due to such a harsh environment that East Asians have the looks they do. Also genetic bottlenecks. Imagine a small group of ugly humans who were forced out of more hospitable regions, because no one wanted to breed with them, to migrate through Siberia/Central Asia. Among them only a handful survive the severe winters and make it to the fertile plains of Eastern China. They then procreate and soon spawn hundreds of millions of offspring who then migrate further south to mix with jungle and island peoples. That's basically how Asians were made.

Whereas Europe had a good mix of mild weather and fertile land, and did not have the deadly disease and wildlife like Africa, so the lack of environmental pressures made sexual selection predominant. That's why Europeans became the Chaddest race. Many Asian phenotypes also come from sexual selection, but it was overwhelmingly male sexual selection (particularly among the nobility) which selected for petite, feminine features rather than Chad features.
