Seen plenty of people around here using all of those fancy new phones, but it's no doing you any good.
You don't need social media, it will only depress you anyway, and besides using it to make tinder experiments I see no point in possessing a smartphone.
I recently got back to my Nokia C2-01 and it feels great. No one sending me shit on Whatsapp, can't use social media even if I want to, and I am beginning to like it.
I think I am actually beginning to see the light and break out of my stupid consumeristic desires. Fuck captialism, Fuck socialism. Fuck everyone and everything.
Less is better. And it's not a cope!

I've got an iphone 5s, nothing recent. I like using the ebook feature, and I use whatsapp to coordinate school projects, that's pretty much the only thing I use a smartphone for that I couldn't do on a flip phone.

Literally no one's forcing you to use social media. Just uninstall all social media apps and it's done- no reason to go back to legacy tech.
Personally, the 2002-2009 "Sony Ericsson" era was the best balance of what you can and can't do on a phone. The 2010+ "portable computers" enabled the present condition of whoredom.

I didn't mean social media only. What I was trying to say was, that because the phones are so flashy, and easy things that can hook you up like porn are just 2 clicks away it can have bad results.
My Nokia though, is too crappy to do any of that, so it prevents me from being glued to the phone screen all the time.
Now if only I could disconnect from my PC screen as well..

I have a smartphone but I never buy new ones unless I absolutely have to. Had my current phone for about 4 years now. NO need to upgrade since I do not use to to do anything but check my email,browse the internet while I'm in bed, and get the occasional wrong number call.

I have a smartphone and use it for 10-15 minutes per day on average.
It's all in your head.
