So I only owned 2 honda vehciles. Ones actually a Accura and its my current vehcile. I owned a 1st gen CRV and now I own a 1st gen MDX.

Despite not owning alot of cars I know the way Hondas are built is very abnormal. 1st gen CRV had a upside down wishbone design with good luck speeding past a speed bump with a bad balljoint LOL. But alot of there vehicles had that design if Im right. Even there sedan types if Im right the Civic and Accord had that suspension type witch is a god awfull idea.

Then the oil assembly. On the 1st gen CRV the oil filter is in this awkward spot that fucking hard to find compared to other cars. And damn deos it get fucking tight. And simuler thing with my MDX. Except it isnt as hard to get to but has another different problem. The oil filter on the MDX is located behind the passenger tire. And its not even mounted directly on the engine. Its attached to this special bracket with has its own oil gaskets I needed to replace 2 months ago.

Somtimes that different can be cool. Unfortunately its limeted to the pilot/MDX tyoe vehicles and what I mean is VTM4 lock. So if you put your vehicle in 1st,2nd or Reverse gear you can then push this button and itll engage these clutch plates to lock the rear differential making the entire rear act like a solid peice of bar. Really great for getting out of stuck shit but again its only available for pilot like vehciles witch means the only 2 other vehciles honda will allow VTM4 lock will be either the Accura MDX or Honda Ridgline.

Speacking of the pilot. (Hundai is also guilty of this to) for some reason instead of making there own genuine truck. Honda took inspiration of the Cheavy Avalanche and instead of making there own truck, they decided to reverse the trucky SUV line and make the Ridgline. What I mean is most large scale SUVs are just Trucks converted into SUVs, using the same engine transmission and almost everything else. Just like the Chevy Avelanche, the Ridgeline is based off the Pilot plateform. Its literally a Honda Pilot but with plastic surgery in the ass. Its the opisite of ass implants that many trucks get. The result is well the weridest looking truck you can find. Not good or bad for truck stuff. Zero match for a Hilux.

Now for the thing that makes Honda a Honda. They really hate normal. Before they jumped on the CVT train with Subaru and Nissan. Honda had a uniqe automatic transmission that many people mistaken for a AMT. Witch to be clear Hondas autos arent AMTs but why do mechanics think of them like that? Well like manuals and AMTs, hondas automatics have a 3 shaft automatic transmission. Instead of the planetary gear system, Honda decided "fuck that normie shit" and did there own 3 shaft automatic. When gears shift, the soilenoid valves will route fluid inside the shafts to engage the clutch packs for gear shifting. There many videos on it. The only time Honda ever laid there finger on the planetary gear system is Accura. The modern RDXs have a 10 speed auto planetary gear transmission. Sadly Honda embrace the CVT and it goes to shit if you dont change the trans fluid on a CVT. Its way more punishing to miss on CVT fluid chance then any other transmission out there. Also I heard Honda on one of there vehicles (dont remember witch one) is now using a wet type DCT but with a torqe converter in adition so yeah...

In a weird way I kinda relate to Honda. I never really like doings things the normall way. My favorite game genre is stealth. I have a craftman tool stack box as my night stand. And I want to move to Utah from Washington state. In a way I feel like I have a bit in common with Honda or at least the old honda. IDK about you guys but actually I dont know what the fuck else to say. Im gonna take a shower and play BF4.

Hate to brake it to you but I dont know shit about the bike stuff. I more so am into the small scale SUVs. Like the CRV.
 
I never had an issue with a 5th gen honda civic. I think when buying a car you need to look at the basic location of where things go. When I opened the hood at the dealership, I checked where the AC fill lines/ battery/ ECM/ oil filter/ air filter and everything seemed good. Can't say much about the suspension because I don't know much.
