Seems most people nowadays don't want to admit to themselves that they're shallow in any way. They like to convince themselves that they're all caring, all accepting, compassionate and empathetic people who offer everyone the same level of respect and understanding. Obviously this isn't the case but most would never admit it. Especially to a class of people such as ugly men, of which there are no social repercussions for treating like dirt and gaslighting.

Also an added benefit for themselves in doing this is that it itself contributes to our misery. Our loneliness and suffering is a great source of entertainment for a lot of regular people out there. Society, and even individual bullies have always had a funny thing for needing to shit on the underdog. By not admitting to us what data and literature has found to be true for god knows how long now about the biases in regards to attraction, they retain the ability to blame us for not being attractive enough, and get to demonize us for being ugly in a more acceptable way. This contrasts with the reality that we simply don't meet current and rising standards in this modern world. Unfortunately, the majority of us cant become the rare exceptions or get rich magically.
