Why can't people under that we are humans too and want affection and touch?

I get that people don't find us attractive but why is it so hard for them to understand that we are also humans and so we do experience the desire to touch and to experience affection? Instead we are shamed for our very reasonable feelings. We aren't graping anyone, we just feel how we feel.
