100%. Notice that when something happens that people value, idk, danger signal, a car coming towards a crowd, a woman being hurt - people react instantly. Humans operate as groups. Think about all the instance you walked around and you saw something catch your attention - chances are 99% of the people around you saw it too. If they dont help you, they just didnt want to, didnt care or think you deserve it.

Then it is being decided who is to blame, who started the fight and how to pumish both. Yes, both.
For some reason the victim would also be punished.

I was running the risk of being thrown out of school for being the victim, basically, just for fighting back.

In hindsight I should have risked it, but try explaining that to a kid.

I wasn't weak. I was just severely out umbered.

Nope, still feel a crunch in my jaw when I eat and have crooked, chipped and dead teeth in my mouth. Without futher surgery and braces I'm fucked and I will never be able to afford this as a sawmill worker in Bosnia.

The treatment was worse than the ailment, the surgery to hold my jaw in place was hell. Basically they punch a wire through your gums, around your teeth and wire your jaws shut that way. As this is a third world shithole they did this without anesthetic. The removal of the wires was even worse, it was literally a surgeon with some pliers pulling metal wire out of my gums.

The surgeon was understanding and let me take breaks mid surgery to regain composure.

I don't blame the maxillofacial surgeons, they really had empathy. The emergency room people tho, god I wish I could split their skulls open with an axe. A butcher would have more empathy to a cow carcass than they had towards me. All because of my low weight, got immediately labelled as a junkie (despite no alcohol or drugs in my system!) and treated worse than a dog.
