if you are boycott at school, it's bearable.
while no one interacts with you, you know where you are at and can somewhat cope with yourself
do some deep dive thinking while playing with a stick and some sand

but at work, they give you the illusion like you are not boycott
they gas light you by saying good morning or bon apetit
and than when you try to engage in conversation, they reply with short one liners and a fake work smile

there is also no stick and sand, only the shameful minimum wage recurring mind numbing work

this got me to think more about what a deep rewarding convo is.
there has to be some interest, questions and an exchange of information within the context
not general one liner replies.
