I do agree with the principle OP. If you can, you should go. However let's be honest, there's loads of reasons people can't. Namely no money and a lack of ability to get a job to support themselves overseas. Other considerations include being a mentalcel and/or major aspie. Some people here can barely leave their house, they're not going to be able to move abroad and sort of stuff like an apartment, a job, and paying their own bills.
With that said I think more people could do it than they think. For instance, to teach English in Thailand (a job that pays the bills and gives you some spending money) all you need is a bachelor degree in ANY subject. Doesn't matter about your GPA either, so long as you didn't outright fail. So anyone with a college degree from a country where English is the first language could do that. That's gotta be quite a large chunk of the board. And in most places you can get loans to get a bachelor degree if you don't already have one, then you flip 2 fingers to the state when you leave - you're never coming back right, so no reason to pay your loans.
If Thailand doesn't suit you, the same rules apply in Vietnam, China, Japan and Korea. So you have options if you've got a BA and are from the UK, Australia, Canada or the US. In any country though, you'll have to accept 2 big problems:
1) You're never gonna be rich. Teaching English pays the bills and gives you some spending money, but unless you want to live like shit you won't be saving much (exceptions apply, but they're exceptions).
2) Related to the above point - you won't be earning a pension or social security etc. So when your health fails you and you can't work anymore, it's gonna be rope time buddy boyo.
Later you might wanna get your MA to increase your salary a bit (though just how much kinda depends a lot on the country). I'm doing that now. UKcels have a pretty decent deal when it comes to higher education - we get loans to cover the tuition fees of our BA and MA courses, and you can get a CELTA (TEFL) certificate on the governments dime through the advanced learner loan scheme too. I've basically come home and decided to qualificationmax for a year, and I'll be out of this country before the ink has dried on my graduation certificate.
It's certainly a lot easier if you're white in South East Asia. Only a fucking tard thinks otherwise. No one actually living in those countries doubts that it's a lot easier - in fact, that's pretty much the reason most of them are there! Seen plenty of below average normie and incel tier guys (i.e. PSL 2-4) who wouldn't have a hope of getting laid back home but over in Thailand they had girlfriends, wives and kids etc.
