I think it's a primal thing of course. Obviously taller males are usually going to be more physically imposing and stronger than shorter males overall.

I believe there is a psychological component to it as well. I think these women see short men as a repulsive abomination. This is because short height is associated with traits like effeminate behavior, Napoleon complex (manlet rage), etc.

But there is something else there too. I think most women very much associate a short height with immaturity. Shortness is a trait usually seen in kids, teens, and most women (since humans are sexually dimorpic). I think due to this most women associate a short height with youth or immaturity. So when they see a fully grown adult male, who is short, it repuslses them innately. It looks unnatural to them. Like a grown man dressed as a baby, only it is way more innate because they cannot change it.

And of course this is a very deep and instinctual component of women's attraction, but it has been exaggerated and intensified by society.
